PokerStars New Jersey Launching Next Week
PokerStars New Jersey announced its schedule for the beta and testing period. The site will operate from 4pm to midnight on March 16 and 17. It will then reopen at 8am on March 18 and remain open permanently. This schedule is dependent on on the stability of the site and its ability to pass tests required by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
The official opening of PokerStars New Jersey is March 21. The site will hold a $25,000 freeroll available to all players that sign up on March 27.
FantasyHub Players Bailed out by DraftKings
FantasyHub, a daily fantasy site that scammed all of its players, came to terms with DraftKings this week. DraftKings will cover the balances of all affected players. The funds were placed in DraftKings accounts on Friday.
FantasyHub had also not made promised donations to charity. DraftKings also covered those funds. The operators of FantasyHub behind the misappropriation of funds are not under indictment in any jurisdiction and do not currently face any punishment from the Fantasy Sports Trade Association.
888 Alters VIP Program
888 will drop its VIP program that currently pays cash based on the amount of rake paid. The program will be replaced with a rewards system that requires players to complete missions. This will more closely resemble social gaming spread on sites like Facebook. Missions will include playing a certain number of hands and making unusual hands. The new program will be rolled out later this month.
RAWA Proponents Change Approach
RAWA proponents like Las Vegas Sands are changing their approach. After years of failure in Congress, the new vision will attempt to lobby law enforcement into going after offshore sites. RAWA’s online lobbying group known as the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling has not posted any news articles since November. The group’s Twitter account has been idle for more than two months.
