Betfair closed its New Jersey poker site on December 1, 2014.
Betfair is best known as a betting exchange in Europe. It also owns TVG, an offtrack horse betting service that operates NJBets in New Jersey. It holds the exclusive offtrack betting contract in the state.
Betfair offers poker and casino games to New Jersey players through a partnership with Trump Plaza. The poker platform is powered by Amaya Gaming. It is the same software used by the Ongame Network, although it does not share players. Betfair planned to share its poker platform with Golden Nugget. That never happened as Golden Nugget never opened a real money poker site and eventually closed its play money one.
Betfair and Golden Nugget still found a way to partner. After Trump Plaza closed, Betfair moved its interactive business to Golden Nugget’s license.

Betfair offers players a wide variety of games. These include No Limit and Fixed Limit Texas Hold’em, Fixed Limit and Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha High/Low, Five Card Draw, Seven Card Stud and Seven Card Stud High/Low. Multi table tournaments are available in No Limit Texas Hold’em, while sit and gos offer a wider variety of choices.
Unfortunately, Betfair’s traffic is nearly zero. Golden Nugget was to share the U.S. Ongame platform with Betfair but it has not launched poker yet.
