Weekly Roundup February 6 2014
Bodog and Bovada $3 Million Black Diamond Poker Open
Bodog and its U.S.-facing skin Bovada will spread over 200 events for the 2014 Black Diamond Poker Open. The combined guaranteed prize pool is $3 million. There will be two separate series. The Contender Series offers low buy-in events. It will kick off on February 18 and offer a combined $500,000 prize pool. The Championship Series starts on March 28 and offers a combined $2.5 million prize pool.
Ultimate Poker New Jersey No-Verlay
Ultimate Poker has struggled in New Jersey. Its tournaments have regularly failed to meet the advertised guarantee. Ultimate Poker has come up with an interesting solution to this problem.
Between February 9 and March 9, all guaranteed tournaments will feature an exciting twist. Any tournament that does not meet its guarantee will award the standard overlay. Players that participate in a tournament that meets its guarantee will receive the full buy-in returned in the form of $T. These may be used for future tournaments.
PokerTracker Now Available for Party Poker and Borgata in New Jersey
PokerTracker 4 is now available to players in New Jersey, according to an announcement by the company. The sites use the same software as Party Poker’s international brand, which is also PokerTracker compatible. Pokerfuse reports that Hold’em Manager is also available at the New Jersey poker skins with the use of TableFinder.
Ultimate Poker to Test Two-Street Hold’em
Ultimate Poker is going to spread a new game for a test in Nevada, according to a blog published by Poker Product Manager Chris Danek. The game is called Two-Street Hold’em. The game has two blinds as a standard game would. It also has an ante equal to the small blind. There are only two betting rounds. Players bet before the flop and after all five community cards are exposed.
Ultimate Poker will have a live game to a few invited players on February 10. It will be live on the Nevada site for four hours daily between February 14, 15 and 16. New Jersey players will not have access to this game at first. A successful test period may change that.
